What you need before you start

Four things, and none of them take long. Having them ready means the whole process is a single sitting rather than a stop-start.

A TronLink wallet

The browser extension or the mobile app, either is fine. This is where your token supply and contract ownership land, so use a wallet you control and have backed up - not an exchange address, which cannot receive a contract deployment.

TRX in that wallet

Enough for the 249 TRX fee, plus a little spare for network resources. TRON charges bandwidth and energy rather than gas - our guide to TRON fees explains how that works and why it costs so little.

Your token details decided

Name, symbol, total supply and decimals. Name, symbol and decimals are permanent once deployed, so they are worth five minutes of thought - see the token parameters guide and tokenomics if you are unsure.

A logo, ideally

Optional, but a token with no image looks unfinished everywhere it appears. A square PNG works best. You can add one later, though wallets and explorers pick it up faster if it is there from the start.

What actually happens when you deploy

It is worth knowing what you are approving, because no-code should not mean no idea what happened. When you confirm the transaction in TronLink, four things happen in a single deployment:

  • A standard TRC-20 contract is deployed to TRON mainnet, built to the same interface every wallet, explorer and DEX already understands.
  • The constructor mints your entire supply directly to your wallet address. Not to us first and then forwarded - straight to you, in the same transaction.
  • Contract ownership is assigned to your address, so any mintable, burnable or pausable features you enabled are yours alone to use, and yours alone to renounce.
  • The source is verified on Tronscan, so anyone considering your token can read exactly what it does rather than take your word for it.
This is non-custodial throughout. We never ask for your seed phrase or private key, and there is no point in the process where we hold your tokens. TronLink signs on your device; we only submit the deployment.

After your token is live

Deployment is the start rather than the finish. A token nobody can see or trade is just a contract address, so most people work through some version of this list next.

Common questions

No. You fill in a form and approve one wallet transaction. The contract is written, compiled and deployed for you - there is nothing to install, no compiler and no command line.

Filling in the form takes a couple of minutes. Once you approve the payment, deployment and confirmation on TRON usually complete in under a minute, and your contract address appears on screen as soon as the block confirms.

Never. We never see your seed phrase or private key - TronLink signs everything on your device. The full supply and the contract ownership are sent to your wallet in the deployment transaction itself, so there is no moment where we hold either.

Your payment is recorded on-chain against your wallet address before deployment starts. If the contract fails to deploy we can see the payment and redeploy against it, so you are not asked to pay twice. Contact us with your wallet address and we will pick it up from the payment record.

Name, symbol and decimals are fixed at deployment and cannot be changed - that is true of every TRC-20 token, not just ours, so it is worth getting them right on the form. Supply can still move if you enabled mintable or burnable when you created the token.

A small amount for network resources. TRON charges bandwidth and energy rather than gas, and a fresh wallet gets a free daily bandwidth allowance that covers ordinary transfers. Keeping a little spare TRX in the wallet avoids a failed transaction later.
